N.V. Brut Rose Macedon Noir

 'MACEDON NOIR'

BRUT ROSE.

This is the limited second release of a hand crafted Rose made from a blend of Pinot Noir & Chardonnay fruit from the 1998 & Pinot Meunier from 1999 vintages, combined with barrel aged 1990 Chardonnay and 1995 Pinot Noir from our Reserve Solero of base wine. It has spent over seven years aging on yeast lees in our underground cellars before disgorging and shows considerable complexity on the nose and palate. It continues in the dry style we have established for our Sparkling wines and whilst greatly enjoyable as an aperitif, compliments most lighter styles of food.

          The Wine:-

Varieties:       Approx. 53% Chardonnay & Pinot Noir 1998 with Pinot Meunier from the 1999 vintage, with the balance being aged reserve wines from the 1990 & ’95                                      vintages

          Tirage:           9th. March 2000.

Disgorged:     By hand 25th. March 2008.

          Colour:           Soft Salmon Pink.

Bouquet:        Developed and complex from the aged Chardonnay fruit with a 'Spicy' Pinot character and a strong yeast "Breadiness".

Palate:           Fresh and lively effervescence with a rich middle palate showing clean acid and spicy fruit on the finish. This is a complex and rich wine with a nicely balanced                                   texture on the palate.
