Riesling
Vintage 2007
The
2007 Silver Wings Riesling is the first release of this variety (previously
exported under the
U.S.
‘Marquee Classic’ label). A
selected parcel of wine sourced from the cool Great Southern districts of
Western Australia
was transported in bulk to
Victoria
for refinement and processing. We use the traditional shaped bottles sealed
with a leading technology screw cap to retain the freshness and pristine
flavours, guaranteed free of cork taint. It
is a high quality, crisp and elegant wine offering remarkable intensity of
varietal fruit complexities to a long ‘zippy’ fresh acid finish.
Colour:
Brilliant straw with tinges of
green.
Bouquet:
From a slightly warmer year shows pungent fruit
characters of fresh cut grass and lime-juice overlaying some mineral and
stone-fruit nuances giving integrity to the intense aromatics.
Palate:
Distinct Riesling fruit characters and mouth-watering freshness lead a complex
wine with a delightful and long, tingling finish. A
fresh, although deeply complex wine as an aperitif or with fresh seafood or
Asian delicacies now, it will offer
wonderful
development in the cellar for many years, to those with patience.
