Macedon Ranges 2001  Rosé

 The 2001 Silver Wings Rosé is the first release of a blended white & red wine under our "second" label. Estate Chardonnay was fermented with some Shiraz skins and then with an addition of a little Pinot Noir for colour, bottled early to retain freshness. It has produced a good quality, lighter bodied and fresh wine at an affordable price.

 Varieties:    90% Chardonnay, 5% Pinot Noir, 5% Shiraz

 Harvested:  March – April 2001

 Colour:       Sunrise pink.

 Bouquet:     Spicy, scented fruit (light raspberry).

 Palate:        The fresh fruity characters soften into a broader palate resulting in a fruity and well rounded, easy drinking style of wine in the ‘Spanish’ tradition.

 Cellaring:   Ready to drink over next 12 months or so.

 Serving:      Soups, light red meat, fish & Oriental foods.
