Keith Brien – Winemaker/Director

Since leaving Cleveland Estate in 2003 (after 25 years), I continue to pursue my passion for making long-lived Single Estate wine, establishing my own label ‘Silver Wings Wines’ highlighting ‘old vines’ Mourvedre and Shiraz wine from the Shepparton region of Central Victoria, named after Vincenzo Conte who planted the vineyard in the late 1950’s. I also make wines from a small high altitude vineyard on the slopes of Mt. Monument, nestled into the shoulder of Mt. Macedon north of Melbourne, where I believe some of the great wines of this era will emerge.

I continue to produce a highly regarded range of wines for export to the U.S.A. under the label ‘Marquee Artisan Wines’ and constantly strive to achieve organic vineyard management and minimal input winemaking, ensuring environmental influences (terroir) are reflected in my produce.

In addition I offer rare and interesting wines from my personal and private collections at my “Cellar Door” in a restored Art Deco warehouse at Munster Terrace, North Melbourne offering a unique experience of tasting and sales of a different and truly exciting range of wines, on the edge of Melbourne CBD.

For more information on the individual wines, including those available from my personal cellar, go to Wine Sales.
