Keith Brien – Winemaker/ Director Silver Wings

Since leaving Cleveland Estate in 2003 (after 25 years), I have been producing a highly regarded range of wines for export to the U.S.A. under the label ‘Marquee Artisan Wines’.  In pursuit of my passion for making long-lived Single Estate wine, I established my own label ‘Silver Wings Wines’ highlighting a wine from Mourvedre and Shiraz fruit grown on 50 year old vines in the Shepparton region of Central Victoria.  Named after Vincenzo Conte, who immigrated to Australia in 1952 and later planting the vineyard, he was subsequently killed in a road accident delivering his fruit to the markets. My privilege is to work with his old vines to produce outstanding quality wine in his memory.  I believe through expression of soil and fruit concentration from this site, the “Vincenzo Old Vines” will become recognized as one of the great wines of Australia .

The first vintage release has already achieved significant recognition from the Australian and International Wine Show circuit.  I have also continued to release Sparkling wines made from Cellar Reserve stocks from my previous site, Cleveland Estate. In addition I offer rare and interesting wines from my personal and private cellars from the recently opened “Cellar Door” in a restored Art Deco warehouse at Munster Terrace, North Melbourne . Visitation offers a unique experience of tasting and sales of an exciting range of wines on the edge of Melbourne CBD.

For more information on the individual wines, including those available from my personal cellar, go to Wine Sales.
